Lefty Williams
Lefty Williams has established a respected and endearing reputation as a great rock guitarist and songwriter through the age-old adage of building an audience one fan at a time. Over the last fifteen years, this legion of supporters has grown exponentially with purity. His songs have real depth and power. They are more than just catchy pop numbers that speak to the heart about issues of life and the experiences we all share in the passage of life. His playing is reminiscent of Jimmy Page, Dickey Betts and Eric Johnson, while at the same time frequently receiving comparison to the great lineage of Georgia reared guitarists that include Robert Cray and Duane Allman. After graduating with honors, Lefty was offered a teaching position at AIM.
This knowledge served him well as he grew into the blues/rock, and jazz infused style he plays today, which nods to Jimi Hendrix, Albert King, Aquarium Rescue Unit, Miles Davis, Stevie Ray Vaugh, early Led Zeppelin and even Taylor Swift.-- all artists that understand the importance of a great song. Lefty has worked to construct a combustible live show with the Lefty Williams Band. The LWB has also opened for the likes of Gov't Mule, Tim Reynolds, Little Feat, Jimbo Mathus, Col. Bruce and the Quark Alliance, Duane Betts, Melody Trucks, Chris Duarte Group and many more. Lefty has also performed and toured over most of the U.S., Canada, The Virgin Islands, South Korea, and Thailand. With multiple albums two of which were produced by John Keane (Widespread Panic, R.E.M. fame). He has also been featured on CNN News, television stations, newspapers, radio stations, and magazines across the country. He recently also was featured at The 2024 Danny Awards in N.Y. City.
